Description
Zinc dust is a fine gray powder of zinc metal, made by distilling primary or secondary zinc in closed, horisontal furnaces. The vapor emitted from the zinc is then directed into large condensers and condensed as dust.
The zinc dust particle size is controlled by the rate of distillation and condensation. The particle size of most zinc dust products is between 2.5 and 8 microns, with a minimum 98% total zinc and a minimum of 94% metal zinc.
Zinc dust is extremely sensitive to moisture, and therefore it is highly recommended to store in a cool, dry place. It is categorised as a hasardous material.
